Next season will be very different for Derrick Rose. He got an early start by training with Team USA and attempting to make the roster for the 2014 FIBA World Cup and he has been impressive so far.
Rose will have a season with the Bulls unlike any he’s experienced in the past. Not only does he believe in himself again, but he should also have plenty of faith in the roster that was assembled around him.
Chicago selected Doug McDermott in the NBA draft, trading two first round picks to get him and they also bought out Nikola Mirotic’s contract with Real Madrid to bring him aboard and added Pau Gasol and Aaron Brooks, who will serve as backup point guard. These four players can score, which will take a lot of pressure off Rose.
These new players will make immediate contributions, providing a distinct offensive flavor that can help eradicate a longstanding weakness that this team has had over the past few years.
America’s Bookie has the Bulls at +850 to win the NBA Championship next season and this bet has great value because they don’t need Rose to do it all. Even if he’s no longer an MVP type of point guard, the rest of the roster should be enough to complement their suffocating defense. That being said, how dangerous this team could be if Rose is healthy.
