Let’s get the week started off right with our accounts getting of the red and into the black. As a long time baseball fan, I see a great opportunity to get the week moving in the right direction with a winning 2-team parlay in tonight’s opening game of the World Series.
Game 1 of the World Series has the New York Mets travelling to Missouri to take on the Kansas City Royals. It marks the second year in a row the Royals have made it to the Fall Classic, having lost to the San Francisco Giants last year with the Mets last playing for the Commissioner’s Trophy in 2000.
Experts like the ones at America’s Bookie currently have the Mets a road favorite at -110 with the Royals the home dog paying even money. The total is set at 7, with the UNDER paying -105 and the OVER at -115. To read a review on the world’s best sportsbook, please visit our website for more information.
New York made their way to the World Series after beating the Los Angeles Dodgers in 5 games and most recently completed a 4 game sweep of the Chicago Cubs. The Mets rolled through two of MLB’s premier pitchers, Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke in taking the best of five NLDS.
The Mets starting pitchers have been very impressive thus far in the postseason, including the effort they got from Jacob deGrom after he outduelling Kershaw in Game 1 of the NLDS. He pitched a dominating 7 inning outing, allowing no runs on 5 hits while striking out 13 and walking one.
deGrom also outpitched Greinke in the series clincher, by scattering 6 hits over six innings. He had trouble getting out of the 1st inning, as was deGrom’s problem at times this year, giving up two runs on 4 hits. He didn’t allow another run through his next 5 innings, scattering only 2 hits.
Daniel Murphy has been nothing short of heroic, as his game winning homerun in the top of the 6th of Game 5 was his third of the series and second of six consecutive games of his record breaking streak he is currently on. Murphy has homered in six consecutive post season games heading into the World Series!
The Mets then disposed of the Cubs in four straight on the strength of the best young starting rotation in baseball, giving up a total of 8 runs. Matt Harvey and Noah Syndergaard took care of Jon Lester and Jake Arrieta in games 1 and 2, while deGrom and Steven Matz did their part in games 3 and 4.
The Kansas City Royals found their way to their second consecutive World Series by knocking off the pesky Houston Astros in five games and the high powered Toronto Blue Jays in 6. The Royals scored 16 runs in the final two games versus the Astros to win the series after they fell behind in the ALDS 2-1.
Their offensive outpouring extended into the ALCS against the Jays, scoring 38 runs in six games, including a 14 run, 15 hit bombardment in Game 4. Kansas City was treated to timely pitching from World Series Game 1 starter Edinson Volquez , Johnny Cueto and a stellar bullpen.
Although Mets Game 1 starter Matt Harvey’s health is somewhat in question, he has the confidence of manager Terry Collins. Harvey will keep the Royal hitters off balance as hits will be tough to come by throughout this one as these two teams feel each other out. Parlay the Mets moneyline and the UNDER for a winning wager for tonight’s Game 1 World Series.
